Board- Paul Aitken

Paul Aitken

Chief Executive Officer & Founder

Paul is the founder of Borro.  Prior to this Paul founded and was the MD of Movota, a provider of mobile solutions to leading media companies, which he sold to Bertelsmann in 2005. In addition to this, Paul has extensive senior operations, supply chain, marketing, & strategy experience in the Retail and IT sectors from his time working with DSG International and RM plc. Paul also holds an MBA from IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland.

Nigel Morris co-founded Capital One with, the current chairman and CEO, Richard Fairbank. Under Morris's leadership at Capital One, the company pioneered an information-based strategy that fundamentally transformed the consumer lending industry. He is now the managing partner of QED Investors, a direct investment fund focused on high-growth companies that leverage the power of data strategies. In addition, he works in an advisory capacity with General Atlantic Partners and Oliver Wyman. He serves on the board of numerous for-profit companies, including TransUnion, Red Ventures, Prosper, Media Math, and Braintree.

Nigel is also on the board of the Brookings Institution, National Geographic Ventures, ideas42, and the London Business School.

Dan Ciporin is a general partner at Canaan. The former Chairman and CEO of Shopping.com which sold to ebay, Dan has previously served as chairman of the Internet Lab, a US-Israeli incubator for early-stage consumer Internet startups. Dan was also Senior VP of MasterCard International where he was responsible for the marketing and product management of all online global debit products. Dan earned an AB from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and an MBA from Yale University.

Apart from Borro, Dan sits on the board for other top financial technology and lifestyle companies.

Paul is probably most well known for his role as CEO of Egg. Paul started his career at Midland Bank and was part of the think tank that created First Direct where he was Financial Services Director. From there he went on to be Operations Director in the start up team that became Prudential Banking and ultimately Egg. Paul was the Chief Operating Officer when Egg launched in 1998 and became Egg's CEO on IPO in 2000.

Having left Egg following its acquisition by Prudential in early 2006, he now splits his time across a range of executive and non-executive roles for start ups including Xbond, Activ8 Intelligence and If I were you.

Tim created his first juice bar, Crussh, in Canary Wharf. The company now has 25 stores spread across London. Following this he became the founding employee of Flutter.com and Commercial Director of Betfair, one of the world's biggest betting organisations. He led the internationalisation of the business creating establishments across the world.

Tim founded Augmentum Capital in 2009, an investor with a broad range of international entrepreneurial experience whilst remaining an active shareholder and supporter of both Betfair and Crussh.

General Partner and Investment Manager Ben joined the Eden Ventures team after 18 years of corporate finance experience in Europe and the US, most recently as Managing Director at Broadview International (now Jefferies) where he was responsible for building the global digital media practice.

Ben focuses on opportunities in the internet, e-commerce, SaaS and games markets.
