Classic car auction sees an ace in the pack

This weekend’s H&H collectors’ car sale progressed well this weekend, according to organisers with an ex-John Anstis 1957 AC Ace Bristol undoubtedly the star of the show.

The classic car managed to exceed expectations by a good margin to return a total price of £151,200 while, in total, 70 per cent of the 65 lots managed to find new homes.

An E-Type 3.8 Roadster that had been restored properly was put under the hammer for £64,960, while a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII sold for £40,320.

Organisers said that the margin seen at the auction was rewardingly healthy, given the current economic climate.

Those behind the auction also pointed out another memorable result, which was the 1965 Jensen C-V8 MKIII which sold for £39,200.

H&H will now prepare for its two sales in August, the Coupés & Cabriolets sale at Donnington Priory on August 8th and the first of its ‘Open’ sales as part of the Coventry Festival of Motoring on the weekend of August 25th and 26th.
