Latest in line of lucrative whiskies predicted to swell charity coffers

A charity dedicated to the re-training and re-education of injured servicemen and women will be hoping that the latest in a very special series of whiskies to go under the hammer performs even better than its lucrative, malty brethren.

The bottle of Glenfiddich Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve is the second of 11 to be released to the public with each bottle honouring a decade of Scotland’s oldest person’s life to date.

Ms Roberts, who turned 110 last August, is the granddaughter of William Grant who founded the Glenfiddich distillery and the first bottle of her commemorative whisky sold at Bonhams, Edinburgh, in December for £46,850.

This topped the previous world record of just under £30,000 for a bottle of single malt and it is hoped that the whiskies will continue to grow ever more valuable as the auctions continue.

When it comes to whisky, quite literally none are as valuable as this reserve and not many will go to as worthy a cause. If you would like to reserve yourself a chance to bid, you’ll need to request a place by contacting Glenfiddich.
