Mercedes Benz move into luxury furniture

We always like to hear of a top-class luxury brand expanding their offering and that’s why we were very interested to receive news of Mercedes-Benz branching into the furniture sector.

The brand, usually know for its automotive prowess, is to join up with Italian furniture manufacturer Formitalia and unveil a series of pieces at this week’s Milan Furniture Show.

In total, the collection includes a sofa, a chaise lounge, a dining room table and a sideboard as well as assorted chairs, a home theatre system stand, a chest of drawers and a bed.

All of which Gorden Wagener, head of design at Mercedes-Benz Style, feels will offer “dynamic yet timelessly elegant design”.

He added: “The various pieces of furniture reflect the progressive, dynamic design idiom of our current show cars and concept vehicles, offering an exclusive, emotional experience outside our vehicles as well.”
