Musical charity auction to take centre stage

A charity auction of music memorabilia from bands set to play the forthcoming Reading and Leeds Festivals is to be held.

The event will benefit local Leeds charity, The Martin House Children’s Hospice, based in Wetherby, and is to be a veritable feast of musical knick-knacks and objet d’art.

Items from headliners The Cure, Foo Fighters and Kasabian as well as Florence and The Machine, The Cribs and Kaiser Chiefs will be included framed NME magazine from a decade of your choice.

The items will be showcased at a to-be-confirmed venue after the festival before being placed on eBay so that music-lovers and collectors will have the chance to pick up such items.

Sarah Smith, from the charity, said: “Martin House are celebrating 25 years of care and we sincerely appreciate all the support from bands and music fans who attend Reading and Leeds Festival as well as Melvin Benn and his team.

“We can’t thank them enough and we hope the true music fans all win their bids in the auction!”

On the list of items will be signed set lists, clothes and instruments.
