British Cars – the Formative Years
There’s no hiding away from the fact that the USA was undoubtedly the tour-de-force of the vintage car making era. That said, the UK did produce some of their own cars and, certainly in today’s market, that does pay off. Where the American production lines were putting out 90% of World production during the roaring 20s, British car manufacturers held less than 10% of market share. As a result, those cars that have made it through to 2013 are in much shorter supply, and consequently have a greater potential for value. Read more
Bentley unveils its ‘fastest production model’
Famous luxury car manufacturer Bentley has unveiled what it describes as its fastest production model ever made.
The Continental GT Speed coupe will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012 later in the month and Bentley say it will appeal to those who value strongoutright performance, agile handling and sporting luxury. Read more
Classic car auction brings in over £1 million
Historics at Brooklands managed to bring in some truly staggering results at their most recent auction, including a Bentley R-Type Coupé which sold for £100,000.
In total, the event saw 60 of its 103 vehicles sold for a sale ratio of 58 per cent thanks to a final sale figure of £1,159,070. Read more
Luxury SUVs unveiled at Beijing International Motor Show
A series of luxury sports utility vehicles (SUVs) have been unveiled at the 2012 Beijing International Motor Show recently.
The show is one of the highlights of the automotive world and this year’s event will see a number of new SUV concepts from motoring heavyweights such as Bentley, Maserati and Lamborghini. Read more
