Board- John Allbrook

John Allbrook

Executive Chairman & CEO

John is an acknowledged thought leader in the IT financing sector, where he built powerful captive finance organisations for Apple, Compaq and Sun Microsystems. At GE Capital he helped establish the company as one of the pre-eminent pan-European commercial finance providers of both plant and machinery and car fleet management. At GoIndustry he helped build a global online marketplace that enabled large international manufacturing corporations to re-market surplus manufacturing equipment. He also led the integration of seven acquisitions and listed the company on AIM.
Most recently John was Executive Chairman of Syscap, one of the UK's leading independent providers of technology and business finance. John presided over a successful turnaround and re-definition of the company's growth strategy. During his 5 years with Syscap new business volume more than doubled and the company delivered 5 consecutive years of EBITDA growth. Syscap was acquired by the Wesleyan Assurance Society in 2015, which completed a successful exit of the business for the company's majority shareholder, AnaCap Financial Partners.

Thomas Welch

Tom Welch joined VPC in 2009 and is a Partner. He is primarily responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing and management of direct private debt and equity investments in middle market companies within the specialty finance and financial technology sectors. Mr. Welch also actively works on value creation initiatives and strategic alternatives for VPC's investments.

Previously, Mr. Welch served as a credit underwriter in the Cash-Flow Lending Group for CapitalSource, concentrating his investment efforts in the industrials, consumer products and business services industries. He also worked in the Global Multi-Industries Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance and growth capital transactions. Mr. Welch received a B.S. in finance with honors from the University of Illinois.

Board - Gordon Watson

Gordon Watson

Non-Executive Director

Gordon Watson joined VPC in 2014 and is a Partner. He is primarily responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing and management of direct private debt and equity investments in the specialty finance sector. Mr. Watson also actively works on making investments in public debt securities in middle market companies where VPC can seek to actively influence positive outcomes.

Previously, Mr. Watson was a portfolio manager focused on distressed debt at GLG Partners, a London based 31 billion multi-strategy hedge fund that concentrates on a diverse range of alternative investments. He joined GLG when it purchased Ore Hill Partners, a credit focused hedge fund where Mr. Watson was a partner. Mr. Watson received a B.A. in political science from Colgate University and an MBA from Columbia University.
