Team - John Allbrook

John Allbrook

Executive Chairman & CEO

John is an acknowledged thought leader in the IT financing sector, where he built powerful captive finance organizations for Apple, Compaq and Sun Microsystems. At GE Capital he helped establish the company as one of the pre-eminent pan-European commercial finance providers of both plant and machinery and car fleet management. At GoIndustry he helped build a global online marketplace that enabled large international manufacturing corporations to re-market surplus manufacturing equipment. He also led the integration of seven acquisitions and listed the company on AIM.
 
Most recently John was Executive Chairman of Syscap, one of the UK's leading independent providers of technology and business finance. John presided over a successful turnaround and re-definition of the company's growth strategy. During his 5 years with Syscap new business volume more than doubled and the company delivered 5 consecutive years of EBITDA growth. Syscap was acquired by the Wesleyan Assurance Society in 2015, which completed a successful exit of the business for the company's majority shareholder, AnaCap Financial Partners.


Team - Nick Pulford

Nick Pulford

Interim CFO

Nick is the Interim CFO of Borro. He has multi-sector experience, gained across a range of organizational structures, including PLC and Private Equity. His experience allows him to assist with the commercial expansion of the business, while maintaining appropriate levels of governance and reporting.

Nick has previously managed business refinancing and sale projects, including those with Asset Backed Lending arrangements. His experience of leading organic and acquisitive growth will support the ongoing development of the Borro business. 


Team - Paul Duncan

Paul Duncan

Chief Technology Officer

A founding member of Borro, Paul is responsible for developing the overall technology vision for the company, driving engineering initiatives and collaboration as well as overseeing Borro's software engineering, security and support departments. Paul has a strong software engineering background in financial software and extensive experience of delivering large websites for both mobile and web browsers. Prior to Borro Paul has worked on projects for a range of successful companies including Internet bank Egg where he worked on a financial planning tool, GMAC Finance doing a car loan and underwriting system and the online account area for City Index who do CFDs, FX and financial spread betting. Paul holds a BSc(Hons 1st Class) in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Birmingham University.


Team - Matt Hawksworth

Matt Hawksworth

Executive Vice President

One of the founding Directors of Borro, Matt is responsible for Borro's operational strategies, processes and systems. Matt's background is in board-level service and operations consultancy, during which time he was responsible for the design and implementation of strategies for a wide range of blue-chip clients including HSBC, Barclays, Vodafone and Thomson Reuters.


Team - Claire Barrington-Jones

Claire Hillier

Managing Director, Commercial

Claire Hillier is the Managing Director of Commercial at Borro. She is responsible for the end to end client experience, deal structuring and new lending across the group. Claire spends much of her time working with clients and partners tailoring lending solutions. Prior to joining Borro Claire was Senior Channel Manager for Lloyds Banking Group personal loans business, responsible for telephony lending performance for LTSB, BOS and Halifax. Claire has a strong client facing background and has more than 14 years' experience working within financial services.


Team - Tom Freeman

Tom Freeman

US Senior Vice President of Operations

Tom Freeman is Senior Vice President in charge of operations and underwriting for Borro US. Tom also oversees Borro's analytics function, working closely with our team of analysts based in the London office. Tom joined Borro in 2013 as 'Head of Business Information'. Prior to joining Borro, Tom was 'Head of Pricing' at UK gambling company, Betfair. Tom holds a degree in mathematics from Imperial College and a graduate diploma from College of Law London.


Team - Vroon Modgill

Vroon Modgill

Group Finance Director

Vroon is a Chartered Accountant who qualified working for Menzies LLP 5 years ago. He has experience of working and managing finance teams for SME's such as JB Drax Honore and BLME.


Team - Nikesh Shah

Nikesh Shah

Head of Compliance

Nikesh Shah is the Head of Compliance at Borro and is responsible for the management of risk and regulatory compliance across the group. Nikesh has over 25 years in financial services experience primarily in risk and compliance roles. He has previously worked for the Lloyds Bank, Barclays, Marsh, Financial Services Authority, Financial Ombudsman Services, EY and British Gas.


Team - Mark Bench

Mark Bench MRICS

Vice President of Valuations

Mark who emigrated to America in 2007 helped establish Borro in New York for its opening in January 2012 and is their Vice President of Valuations where he heads a team of four appraisers.  Mark has just under twenty-five years' auction house experience where he held a number of senior positions including senior general appraiser and auctioneer for Phillips and Bonham's in Mayfair, London.  Upon emigrating he became an advisor to Judd Foundation and a trustee of the Furniture Society. He also has professional connections with many independent appraisers who are members of the three professional American appraisal organizations (AAA, ISA and ASA). Additionally, he also has much contact with art attorneys, professional art advisors and members of the American Institute of Conservation and he is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and sits on the personal property board of RICS (Americas). Mark is USPAP compliant.
