Everything You Need to Know About January’s Auctions

2017 will go down as the record breaking year. Basquiat’s ‘Untitled’ came first, selling for $110m (£81,340,000), the $20 million (£14,789,000) Aston Martin that smashed the world record for most expensive British car at Pebble Beach in August, and the already infamous $450 million (£332,753,000) Leonardo Da Vinci that essentially changed the art market forever. How will the auctions in 2018 fair in comparison to last year? If the January 2018 auction dates are anything to go by, this year should be just as big as the last:

The most heavily anticipated lot will surely be the 1954 Jaguar D-Type Works, another example of a beautifully engineered British classic set to fetch big bucks, with a high estimate of $15 million (£11,092,000).
